We are looking for a Head of Finance to join the team. This role is a key leadership position within PGI, acting as the number two to the CFO. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will lead initiatives, provide robust financial scrutiny and challenge, and represent the finance function across the business.
What you’ll be doing
Planning and reporting
- Coordinating the annual budgeting process with stakeholders across the business
- Keeping an up to date projection of current full year performance
- Identifying and communicating risks and opportunities to the plan
- Holding functional leaders accountable for delivery of the plan
- Monthly reporting of results and supporting information, internally and externally
Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
- Partnering to the group as the finance expert, e.g., accounting and tax implications, scenario planning, what if analysis
- Adding finance input to live organisational and operational challenges
- Holding the group to account on delivery of the financial result and monitoring progress against targets
- Reviewing and challenging of business case proposals
Financial Control
- Leading on audit and tax compliance, acting as main point of contact for PGI
- Reviewing initial draft of month end before presenting to the CFO
- Cashflow management
- Owning commission calculations and reviewing payroll before it is committed
- Continual review and improvement of the controls environment
Team leadership and management
- Coaching of the team to produce robust financial results
- Leading and motivating the finance team to be more outward facing
On day one you will bring
- Strong financial accounting and control skills, balanced with commercial support and decision-making awareness.
- Ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or significant similar experience with a willingness to continue developing knowledge.
- Expertise in producing data-driven reports and providing insightful analysis.
- A continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency.
- A proactive approach to challenging existing processes
- Advanced MS Office and systems skills to lead solution development.
- Effective relationship-building and influencing skills
- Sound judgement on when to delve into details and when to delegate tasks.
- Previous responsibility for a full month-end process, including reporting.
- Analytical, organised, and able to manage priorities.
