mi:fusion Can Revolutionise The Healthcare Industry

With more and more people using the internet as a way of describing their experiences, social media is now an invaluable tool for healthcare providers to spot problems when it comes to patient care.

mi:fusion is a powerful tool that makes the process of monitoring social media extremely easy and could help to revolutionise the healthcare industry.

What is mi:fusion?

mi:fusion is a powerful marketing and research tool which has been designed to extract the most from social media whilst delivering a new paradigm in marketing your product to your customers. It allows a user to analyse the vast amount of content posted across the full range of social media. From Facebook to Twitter, mi:fusion provides an analyst with all of the data they need to accurately target their chosen audience and market.

mi:fusion is unique as it provides a 360 degree view of target and allows the user to have immediate access to comments made in the press, relevant activist content via WordPress and every comment made about the users product on Twitter across the globe. The ability to display every language and to understand content in multiple languages sets mi:fusion apart allowing the user to have a truly global overview.

How can it help the Healthcare Industry?

More and more people are using social media to describe their care in both the USA and UK. In 2012 it was shown that in the USA, the public was increasingly willing to engage with their healthcare online. Of the 85% of adults using the internet, 48% looked at social networking sites daily, 34% had read about someone else’s health experience on a website and 15% had consulted online reviews of medical facilities. These figures have increased a lot since then.

A patient in the 21st century has few similarities to those in the 20th century. They are more tech savvy and now routinely seek out information on a hospital or medical centre, question medical  professionals and will tell others about their treatment experiences via social media. The desire for and access to information, and the ability to interact with others experiencing similar issues has radically changed the doctor/patient dynamic.

By using mi:fusion to monitor the social media activity of patients a healthcare provider or governing body can quickly and accurately detect any poor service and take action to improve the situation. mi:fusion has the unique ability to show the user what the author of a piece of content thinks of a certain product or thing, (in this case their treatment). It does this by displaying the content using flags as sentiment indicators, all of which can be refined by the user. The sentiment flags range from ‘Very Positive’ to ‘Very Negative’. The tool is immensely useful to marketers, as by analysing Tweets, Facebook posts or blog posts, the user can see how an audience feels about their product.

Previously, hospitals and governing bodies have relied on internal data to assess how they are performing. All well and good, but in reality numbers on a spreadsheet are nothing when compared to feedback and comments from those who have experienced a service. By using mi:fusion a healthcare provider can easily interact with their patients and can determine their organisations strengths and weaknesses.

Where patients agree to share their information we can now monitor a test group through their social media and gain an understanding of what they are saying and the circumstances surrounding their care.

mi:fusion can Identify areas in need of improvement via social media, something that could greatly improve a patients care as-well-as help to improve standards across the healthcare industry.
